It’s been more than five decades since Betsy Plank first starting making impacts in the public relations profession and staking a claim in public relations ethics, education and leadership. During that time, she touched the lives and careers of thousands, each of whom continues to share an affinity for her spirit and selfless nature of giving back.
Betsy’s legacy continues today when over a decade ago she endowed The Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations at her alma mater, the University of Alabama.
Among the many things we do to carry on Betsy’s legacy, we have begun working on a new gift – an exhibit space at the Center that will forever honor our namesake and spiritual leader, and document her impact on the practice and leadership of contemporary public relations. This space will educate generations of students, educators and professionals on her role in our profession’s storied past.
We invite you to join us in building this tribute as a “Friend of Betsy.” For a $50 minimum contribution, we will add your name to a plaque of esteemed founding members displayed in The Plank Center exhibit.
