TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations recently announced its new brand identity. While the Center’s mission, goals and values remain unchanged, the total rebrand and new look represent the efforts of the Center to continue evolving with the public relations and communications industries.
“We are pleased to unveil an updated brand, look and logo for The Plank Center. While this might feel more internally focused, our approach was very strategic and purposeful as we sought to represent both our heritage as well as our future. Our thanks to Gary Grates and his agency, Real Chemistry, for their hard work in helping us bring this vision to life,” said Bridget Coffing, Plank Center board chair.
This rebrand reflects the modern, future-focused direction of the people and industry The Plank Center serves. The new brand identity consists of a new logo, fonts and colors that are reflective of the bright future that lies ahead for the public relations and communications industries. These new elements retain professionalism while increasing brand approachability for communicators of all experience levels. Both the old and new logos display a compass, a symbol of the Center’s role as a guiding resource in the public relations industry.
“This rebrand gives people a chance to rediscover The Plank Center and see it through new eyes, in a way that makes sense for how individuals and organizations are dealing with the current state themselves, so that we’re right there with them, an advocate with them, and hopefully a partner with them. These modifications are what gives all of us who are a part of The Plank Center a reason for optimism and excitement,” said Gary Grates, Plank Center board member and Principal, Real Chemistry.
