Eric Winkfield, 2018 Emerging Leader

 

Eric M Winkfield HSEric Winkfield is a skilled communicator who is continuously evolving in the changing media and technological landscapes. He joined Pepco, a public utility owned by Exelon that provides service to customers in Washington, D.C. and to surrounding communities in Maryland, as a communications specialist in January 2017 and was promoted to public affairs manager after a year.

As an experienced communications professional with a demonstrated history of working in complex industries, He is skilled in media strategy, public affairs, integrated marketing communications, and market research.

After completing his bachelor’s degree in public relations at Florida A&M University, Winkfield attended West Virginia University for a master’s in integrated marketing communications. While completing his masters, he served as a marketing graduate assistant for the university and worked as a marketing coordinator for The Preiss Company.

He served on the national committee of PRSSA as vice president of advocacy. During his term he led national programming on ethics, diversity and inclusion for the society. Winkfield is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., serves on the board of advisors for the After-School All-Stars DC and is graduate of Leadership Montgomery County.

He is passionate about advocating and helping others grow to become their best and authentic selves. Winkfield’s career goal is to be a senior communications executive for a Fortune 500 company or government agency. However, his life goal is to pour into others the positive influences and guidance that has shaped him.
