Grant Deady

Vice Chair, The Plank Center

Grant Deady has been with Zeno Group since the agency opened in 1998. He was named the first-ever president of Zeno U.S. in 2023 and spent more than a decade running the Chicago office, growing it into the largest operation in the agency’s global network.

Grant’s passion and expertise is in brand storytelling. He works with C-suite executives and top communicators to tell stories that will positively impact key stakeholder audiences: consumers, employees, investors and business partners. He has deep experience marketing to families and working with brands that are staples in people’s homes and part of their daily lives. In addition to leading Zeno U.S., Grant also serves as the agency’s chief culture officer. During his time at Zeno, the agency has grown from a little-known boutique to being named multiple times as PRWeek’s Outstanding MidSize Agency and now Outstanding Large Agency of the Year, as well as being named as one of PRWeek’s Best Places to Work and by Crain’s Chicago Business as the Best Place to Work for Minorities.

Beyond his client work, Grant serves as vice chair on The Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations Board of Advisors, located at The University of Alabama, whose mission is to empower and advance the next generation of emerging leaders in the public relations profession. He also leads Zeno’s pro bono work for The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center as well as more than a decade doing pro bono work for Breakthrough T1D (formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). Last year, the first-ever Grant & Mary Beth Deady Public Relations Scholarship was awarded at the couple’s alma mater, Southern Illinois University in Carbondale—a gift to Grant from Zeno to mark his 25th anniversary at the agency.
