ICA TOP STUDENT PAPER AWARD
To help support and recognize student leadership in public relations research, The Plank Center provides a $500 award to the top student research paper in the PR Division of the International Communication Association. The paper is selected by a panel of division scholars.
2008 Top Student Paper Award Winner: Brian Smith, University of Maryland, for "Creating Recognition of Employee Recognition: A Case Study on Marketing Persuasion, Public Relations and Branding."
2007 Top Student Paper Award Winner: Andreas Schwarz, Technical University, Limenau, Germany, for “Covariation-based causal attributions during organizational crises: Suggestions for extending Situational Crisis Communication theory (SCCT).”
2006 Top Student Paper Award Winner: Simon T. Sinaga, Texas Tech University, and H. Denis Wu, Louisiana State University, for “Predicting Indonesian Journalists’ Use of Public Relations Generated News Material.” Journal of Public Relations Research, Jan. 2007, Vol. 19(1), 69-90.
