Ryan McShane, 2012 Young Professional Honoree

Ryan McShane is Senior Account Executive currently in his fifth year in the industry at Taylor, a global integrated marketing communications agency. Working with some of the world’s largest consumer brands within the sports and lifestyle sectors, McShane holds experience in soccer, college football, Olympics and motorcycles.

While studying at Arkansas Tech University, McShane served on the PRSSA National Committee as the Student Society’s Editor-in-Chief for its two national publications, Connecting with PRSSA and FORUM.

In his post-grad life, he continues to provide counsel to PR students and young professionals as a columnist, blogger, internship manager and guest speaker, as well as the head of PRSA Charlotte’s Young Professionals committee. The last three years, McShane has also served as a lead judge for PRSSA’s annual Teahan Awards, the Student Society’s most prestigious honors a PRSSA Chapter may earn.

In 2010, PRSA Charlotte presented McShane with its Young Professional Award, given to one young professional annually to honor a member who exemplifies strong professional capabilities, leadership qualities, service to the public relations community and a respected character.

McShane’s continued mentorship stems from his time as a college student. Professors, advisers, PRSSA colleagues and industry professionals provided McShane with opportunities to lead, lead and achieve pre-professional experience. Knowing the impact one individual can have on a person’s life, McShane discovered a passion to pay it forward.
