Leslie Sutton

Leslie Sutton is vice president of corporate communications for Discover. She is responsible for developing and executing programs designed to protect, preserve and advance the reputation of the company; drive usage and consideration of the company’s products and services; enhance corporate culture; and promote corporate responsibility.

Leslie has more than 25 years of communications experience, having worked for public companies, consulting firms and non-profit organizations throughout her career.

She previously served as senior director of external affairs for Kraft Foods Group, where she was responsible for corporate media relations, financial communications, and issues and crisis management

Leslie served as the senior vice president of corporate communications in the Chicago office of Hill & Knowlton and as the agency’s national director of client service. She counseled numerous clients throughout her 10 years as a consultant, most notably serving as the global account leader for Motorola, for which she managed a team of 75 people in 14 countries on behalf of the agency’s largest client.

Prior to joining Hill & Knowlton, Leslie was a senior manager of communications for Arthur Andersen, where she was responsible for internal and external communications for the U.S. firm, reporting directly to the U.S. country managing partner.

Before that, Leslie was manager of editorial services for the National Soft Drink Association in Washington, D.C. She was responsible for industry-wide communications and the development of public relations plans supporting state government affairs programs.

Leslie began her career at the American Council of Young Political Leaders, a non-profit organization established to promote mutual understanding between elected officials of different nations.

She received her Master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and her Bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College. Leslie is a member of the Arthur W. Page Society and a Member of the Board of Trustees for the Institute for Public Relations.
