The Plank Center is dedicated to diversity in the public relations industry in all of its forms, including race, ethnicity, age, gender and LGBT orientation. Dr. Erica Ciszek, assistant professor at the University of Texas at Austin, research focuses on the intersections of identity, communication, and technology and how organizations communicate with marginalized and minority populations. Dr. Ciszek’s research with international LGBT advocates bridges the gap to this community and encourages diversity in all situations.
